A striped awning and patio overflowing with flowers give Edulis (meaning ‘edible’ in Latin) all the warmth of a neighbourhood bistro but the quality of the food is a cut above. Chef Michael Caballo draws inspiration from Spain and France to create seasonally driven, inherently honest dishes that are rustic yet refined. Well-priced, set menus change daily but may contain morel mushrooms in smoked butter, scallops alongside delicate strawberry puree and charcoal-grilled prawns with ginger and saffron vinaigrette. An excellent choice of European cider and personable service keeps the mood highly convivial.
