Singaporean food, but not as you know it

Labyrinth

On the Pass

Han Liguang

What's it all about? Labyrinth takes inspiration from many Singaporean classic dishes, but turns them into the most modernised and elegant versions of themselves. Chef Han Liguang’s food is constantly evolving and every meal here feels different, yet the core of his ideas stem from dishes that you find along the streets of Singapore. Having won the Sustainable Restaurant Award in 2021, the venue now adds the Highest Climber Award 2023 to its trophy cabinet, after jumping up 29 places from No.40 in 2022 to No.11 in 2023.

What’s the vibe? The dining room has just gone through a mini renovation with the previously dark carpet and walls brightened up with warmer accents from the wooden flooring and tables, making the dining experience more inviting.

Typical dishes: The set menu has multiple small, fun bites, all of which are constantly being updated and changed out. Most of these snacks are based on items that you’d probably recognise if you spend time eating local food - like Hae Mee Tng, or prawn noodles. The only constant on the menu is Chef Han’s chilli crab ice cream, currently in its eighth iteration.

Flying the local flag: Besides using local hawker food as inspiration for his menu, Chef Han also displays art from several local artists, including a piece that lights up to display the map of the MRT train lines.

Come for a fun time: The menu is more interactive than ever. Without wanting to give too much away, props, packaging and presentation make the dining experience more experiential, helping set Labyrinth apart from other restaurants in Singapore.
