Night Hawk

Singapore

New Entry

In 2022, veteran bartender Peter Chua teamed up with architect firm Studio Dinding to transform a tiny lot in Singapore’s Tanjong Pagar district into a 25-seat design and cocktail mecca, inspired by Edward Hopper’s iconic 1942 painting, Nighthawks. Fitting for Hopper’s futuristic imagery, the bar takes a modern yet restrained approach for the interior, with shades of plush maroon and gentle hues accented by occasional gilded furnishings.

Cocktails follow suit and gently play with the classics, as seen via the Kick Artist Fix (rye, rum, maple, fortified wine and butter) as an homage to the Manhattan, and the Gamma-ray Holiday (gin, melon, pineapple, citrus, bitter gourd, soda) for the midori sour. Should the night require it, a trio of cocktails are also available in shot sizes. Since opening its doors, Night Hawk hasn’t wasted any time in making its splash within the Lion City’s saturated cocktail scene, earning both the Bareksten Best Bar Design Award as part of The World’s 50 Best Bars and the One To Watch Award as part of Asia’s 50 Best Bars in 2023. The success story continues in 2024 as it makes its debut into the premier ranking of Asia’s 50 Best Bars.
