Dear Irving presents a journey through luxury across different historical eras. Inspired by the film Midnight in Paris, the space is divided into four distinct rooms: Marie Antoinette, Abraham Lincoln, JFK and F. Scott Fitzgerald. The meticulous details in each area range from Versailles-style chandeliers to mid-century modern sofas worthy of Camelot. Accordingly, the service is worthy of a head of state. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and graceful.

Bar director Meaghan Dorman’s menu consists of a static ‘Tried & True’ section along with seasonally rotating sister sections. Crowd favourites include her Steely Dan-inspired Deacon Blues (small-batch bourbon, mezcal, vanilla/black pepper syrup, cocktail bitters) and the Marie Antoinette (rum, crème de cacao, raspberry, lemon) is a dead ringer for Black Forest cake. Shareable plates such as chili-lime tuna tartare, lobster rolls and macarons provide accompaniment. If the flavours sound decadent, that’s because they are. Dear Irving offers an escapist evening of indulgence. The tables even come equipped with buzzers to summon a server.
