No stranger to the global awards, New Delhi’s Sidecar is known and loved as the city’s quintessential neighbourhood bar. Offering a robust selection of bar food – from ribs to the infamous Bartender’s Special Fried Rice –, weekly live music performances and pub quizzes, the bar has something for everybody. The cosy all-day venue is spread across three levels, each capturing a different mood.

The first level is a café-style reading room, lined with books curated by a publishing house. The second level houses the bar itself – a long, wooden masterpiece reminiscent of mountain tea shops – while the final alfresco level, complete with foliage and murals, comes alive at night as guests enjoy a drink outside in the cooler months. Sidecar’s latest cocktail menu, Dear Delhi, is a celebration of the essence of the city through drinks that speak of its history, from the gigantic spice market of Khari Baoli to Mehrauli’s phool mandi (flower market). The current crowd favourite is the Sadar Bazaar, a sweet symphony of cognac blend, lemon juice, sandalwood, laccha supari (areca nut) and orange blossom water.
