Piedra Pasillo

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Set in a renovated house in Buenos Aires’ Nuñez barrio, Piedra Pasillo Al Fondo feels more like eating in a living, abstract artwork than your average city restaurant. The team takes modern dining to new heights: inside, stone walls are chipped and broken away to create a stark and raw setting for diners, but the kitchen appears as a beautiful vista through an opening in the brickwork. There's a focus on complex, creative cooking: co-owners Lucas Canga and Tomás Couriel run a tight ship of skilled chefs, who plate up colourful and seasonal dishes for friendly, charming staff to send around the room. Food is detailed but deliciously simple: green rice might come with blue cheese and broccoli, or calamari dished up with turnips and quails eggs, while lion’s mane mushroom is paired with cauliflower and dates.
