Behind a discreet black door and inside a former tenement covered in street art, sits one of the finest restaurants in Buenos Aires. Tegui is a regular top-ten entry in Latin America’s 50 Best and while the interior décor is stylishly monochrome, the seasonal eight-step tasting menu is served in full technicolour. Chef Germán Martitegui sources ingredients from all over Argentina, from prickly pear to Patagonian oysters, even foraging locally in the city, to mix and match flavours and textures. Firm favourites include kid goat in vine leaves and grilled lettuce with anchovy, all served by an enthusiastic young team cooking in an airy open kitchen.
