Situated on the top floor of Antwerp’s 'Museum by the River', the already well-established Zilte was transplanted from the town of Mol in 2011 by husband-and-wife team Viki Geunes (chef) and Vivian Plaquet (maître d’hôtel), now joined by their daughter, Gitte, as front-of-house, while her husband, Aaron Moeraert, is Zilte's sommelier. Boasting high ceilings and a warm palette, the dining room offers breath-taking views of the city and river Scheldt below. Paying tribute to his Burgundian roots, Geunes sends out five and eight-course tasting menus that display a true mastery of texture and flavour. Desserts, such as sea buckthorn with yoghurt, bitter chocolate and shortbread, are a highlight.
