The third project from chef and entrepreneur Thiago Bañares (Tan Tan and Kotorii), The Liquor Store is a small, sleek second-floor lounge tucked away behind one of the city’s best sushi restaurants, Goya Zushi. The tasteful lounge has room for only 20 guests to enter the moody space, where lush crimson chairs and banquettes contrast black marble bar- and table-tops. Well-schooled cocktail enthusiasts will relish in the thorough collection of the world’s best cocktail books and menus that line the display shelves, and thanks to strategic recessed lights above the bar, everyone can marvel in the mesmerising techniques displayed by the expert bartenders. The cocktail menu features both classics and signature drinks, but here, dealer’s choice is also an excellent call.
