Ox Club and its sister restaurant in Siem Reap are opulent but contemporary tributes to European fine dining, with glittering light installations in lieu of classic chandeliers, plush upholstery and elaborate 3D wall art giving busy wallpaper an innovative update. Billing itself as a Mediterranean steak house, the menu has an impressive choice of cuts including MB5 Wagyu tenderloin tartare with caviar, ponzu gelée, pommes frites, herb oil, cured egg yolk, a sharing surf and turf platter and a choice of Japanese and Australian Wagyu steaks in addition to US-bred Aberdeen Angus. There's also a Saturday brunch, which we think is one of the best in the city, offering salted waffles with uni, crab salad, yuzu gelée and salmon roe or a truffle-infused eggs Benedict topped with wagyu beef cheek and the option to indulge in free-flowing cocktails while you dine.
