Housed in a retro-cool space inspired by the aesthetics of vintage hotel lobbies as imagined through the lens of Wes Anderson films (Mordecai is the name of the pet hawk in The Royal Tenenbaums), Bar Mordecai is Toronto's most electric mash-up of tapas and cocktails. On the menu, bespoke takes on classics - think familiar and approachable but also fun and imaginative - plus an eclectic wine list share space with shareable snacks inspired by Iberian cuisine. Downstairs, a cozy wood-clad lounge called the Green Room offers an intimate drinking experience, and if high-frequency weekend vibes are what you're after, try one of the four private karaoke rooms, each decked out in decor that harks back to a specific era in music history. The bar takes reservations for tables, which are good for two hours; the upstairs and downstairs bar seats are reserved for walk-ins.
