Set on the first floor of the glamorous Hôtel Martinez, La Palme d’Or overlooks the famed promenade of La Croisette, with diners on the terrace enjoying dazzling views of the bay. The restaurant has been reimagined to reflect the interiors of a vintage yacht, but its concept is firmly rooted in Cannes’ cinematic history. There’s the type-written menu resembling a film script, dishes presented as storyboards and the dining room centred around a grand jury’s table. With chef Jean Imbert at the helm, seafood is the main event here, with the likes of red mullet, John Dory, lobster and scorpion fish simply roasted over a wood fire. Or enjoy dishes such as sea bream with artichoke agnolotti and tuna belly served with preserved lemon, mint and coriander tabbouleh.
