Hôtel Crillon le Brave

Crillon Le Brave, France

Hôtel Crillon le Brave is more than your 'average' ultra-luxe retreat, tucked away in a picture-perfect French village – the hotel is the village itself. Part of the family-owned Maisons Pariente group, the resort was born thanks to Canadian hotelier Peter Chittick's entrepreneurial nous, when he bought up a collection of 17th and 18th centuries buildings and transformed them into the sprawling hotel. The 17 rooms and 17 suites are littered across the village, each uniquely brought to life with rustic, hand-picked furnishings and a flourish of antiques, but the real piece de resistance is the view across Mont Ventoux. Beneath the vaulted 18th-century stables lies Crillon le Brave's spa, which doles out treatments dreamed up by world-class skincare purveyors Tata Harper. Elsewhere, the offering is less about privacy and all about drinking in those sensational views, whether from the terrace of La Table du Ventoux restaurant, accessed by secret passage, or from the open air pool, which overlooks the charming village below.
