Quinsou
Paris, France
Located opposite Ferrandi, the internationally recognised school of culinary arts, Quinsou (‘Chaffinch’) has developed a loyal following for its superlative small plates and well-curated selection of regional wines. The ‘neo-bistro’ styling features tan leather banquette seating and wooden floorboards, with tables illuminated by softly glowing, spherical pendent lights. With no à la carte menu on offer, head chef Antonin Bonnet goes to town with an excellent five-course tasting extravaganza, featuring the likes of expertly executed oyster in dashi, stuffed courgette flower and a terrific risotto with black truffle, pork jus and fried speck.
