Mrs Robinson's

Berlin, Germany

When it opened in 2016, this cool bistro was a neighbourhood secret. Today, it has become a destination name without losing the following of its regulars – a testament to how consistently tasty their seasonal small plates are. Founders Ben Zviel and Samina Raza are serious about sustainability. Fish is always spear- or line-caught, meat sourced 12 months in advance, herbs are often foraged, and vegetables grown organically by local farmers. The wine list is organised on similar principles and has a particular focus on French whites from very small producers. With its white-washed bricks and unfussy furniture the space is simple yet also cosy thanks to jugs of dried flowers and a shelf of cookbooks.
