Stand

Budapest, Hungary

Stand's founder, chef Tamás Széll is a man for whom precision is everything, an attribute which previously led him to winning the world-renowned Bocuse d'Or chef competition in 2016. There's a sense of reverence here, not just because the kitchen is kept behind glass, with diners watching the chefs work diligently through a large window and the dining room itself is modern and minimal with organic textures like a striking stone floor, white tablecloths giving a hint of the fine dining to come. It's tasting menus only, with a choice of a six or eight course experience, featuring exquisite dishes like sterlet fillet, langoustine, cucumber salad, clam sauce with dill and caviar or charcoal-grilled saddle of venison with fondant potato, cherry and blackcurrant jam and barbecue jus.
