Xcaret Arte is changing the perception of large, all inclusive resorts on the Riviera Maya. The magicians at Xcaret conjure 900 rooms out of what feels like a mid sized, luxury resort. In part, the illusion is a product of founding architect Miguel Quintana Pali’s sprawling design, creating private nooks in a diverse ecosystem of river, sea and jungle. The adult-only, suite-only property mixes Caribbean beauty with modern design and the titular homage to Mexico’s art. Aside from the carefully curated pieces adorning the walls and halls, the resort takes a broad view of art and the theme carries over into lessons and pavilions devoted to dance and performance arts, weaving and even tutorials in culinary arts. Cooking is not required, however, as the property also has ten restaurant plus a hidden speakeasy. For the adrenaline crowd, Xcaret provides reciprocal access to their other eight parks including adventures in ziplines, offroading, sailing and a waterpark spa.
