Within the striking arches of Kathmandu’s Bluestar Complex lies restaurant and bar Barc, an upmarket and elegant space with a jazz soundtrack. Within these emerald walls, and on the beautiful terrace, the team offer a sophisticated selection of cocktails alongside a food menu that draws on influences from across Asia, taking in Japan, Thailand, Korea and China. There are various bar bites to choose from, alongside a selection of sliders and Nepali momos. Among the cocktails is the Khattu, named for the sweet and sour plum that is its headline ingredient, joined by vodka, lime juice and sugar – and there’s a Clarified Khattu cocktail too, with clarified khattu syrup. Alongside these signature drinks is a selection of classic cocktails, and twists on those too.
