Architectural firm by day, cocktail bar by night, Bar by East is a clever after-hours drinking spot located in Lamp Quarters, a food and retail complex in Marikina City. True to its daytime use, the design of the space is minimal with a somewhat industrial feel (think plenty of of concrete and glass); ideal for small groups since most of the seating takes place in areas where one might also be workin –though there are also seats at the bar itself, which is hidden behind large sliding wooden doors during daylight hours. The cocktail list is similarly understated, with classics, alcohol-free options and a short list of signature drinks with fun ingredients like gummy bear-infused vodka and calamansi liqueur. With extra-friendly staff, there's no risk of feeling like you're at the office once the lights dim for service, it's just a great after-work hangout.
