It was within the depths of the Covid pandemic that hospitality veteran Gehan Fernando came up with the concept for Uncle’s – a decidedly local and lighthearted celebration of all things Sri Lankan and sustainability. Building on the greater focus on all things local at the time, not to mention limited access to imported goods, this Colombo cocktail bar continues to champion Sri Lankan ingredients and flavours. Here you'll find cocktails made using local spirit arrack and menu options divided into Tropical and Boozy Big Boy Drinks. All ingredients are all sourced locally with syrups, liqueurs and infusions produced in-house. Bar food, meanwhile, takes its cues from the street food of Sri Lanka. The atmosphere is akin to that of a neighbourhood bar – friendly and laid back, with a healthy dose of humour.
