Drenched in electric cranberry-red and gold tones, decorated with an animated mix of lush velvet seats, glittering lamps and colourful floor tiles, Nuss Bar is a lively drinking destination nestled amidst towering temples and Chinese herbal medicine shops in the historic Old Town neighbourhood of Bangkok. The brainchild of celebrated chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakhajohn – Nuss was his grandmother’s nickname – and award-winning bartender Ronnaporn Kanivichaporn (from Mahaniyom Cocktail Bar), the totally instagrammable jewel, located on the first floor of the building that also houses Chef Ton’s restaurant Nusara, awakens the senses via the house cocktails too. Think classics frequently updated with unique Thai twists, like the house Palm Daiquiri made with fresh palm sugar, or the Pomelo Paloma, which infuses coriander leaves, dry vermouth and local grapefruit juice into the mix.
