One of the most iconic bars in the Midwest, and the oldest cocktail lounge in Milwaukee, Bryant’s has been open since 1938. While updates to the interiors have been made as the bar has shifted ownership and endured various trends in drinking culture over time, the vibe still feels like stepping back into a bygone era. From the vintage McIntosh sound system to the velvet walls and leather booths, the term vintage classic barely does the place justice. There has never been a menu at the cosy lounge – instead guests must engage in dialogue with the cordial bartenders, who can mix up more than 400 different cocktails at the drop of a hat – but many make pilgrimage to the bar for Midwestern classics like the Pink Squirrel and Wisconsin Old Fashioned. The seasonal punch service is also a highlight. As you might expect, there are no reservations.
