Part of the grand New Orleans restaurant Arnaud’s in the city’s French Quarter, this bar may be inspired by France, but it is undoubtedly a product of the Big Easy. French 75 has been operating for more than a century and acts as a peek into that golden age of American bars, with staff in white tuxedo jackets, a list of simple, punchy cocktail serves, a selection of cigars and bar snacks. Its namesake cocktail the ‘French 75’ is naturally the go-to order, but there are also a range of original drinks, such as the ‘St Victoria’ (Dorothy Parker Gin, Strega, Créole shrub and suze), that are also worth a shout.
