Parker Palm Springs

Palm Springs, US

In 1961, Gene Autry, the Hollywood legend known as the ‘Singing Cowboy’ purchased and developed 13 acres in the Palm Springs desert to serve as the spring home for himselfr and his Los Angeles Angels baseball team. The Angels left but the heavenly environment still remains. Jonathon Adler’s ‘mid-century desert’ redesign created a destination fit for film shoots and filmstars. Despite the desert location in Palm Springs, the manicured grounds of the property are a lush, tropical wonderland. Firepits, hammocks and dining nooks punctuate the winding trails. Follow the artist-commissioned maps to find petanque courts, croquet lawns and even a secret movie theatre. The copious dining options include Norma’s, an elevated diner; Mister Parker’s, an eccentric spin on California cuisine; the crafty cocktail bar, MiniBar, and Counter Reformation, a popular wine bar tucked away behind the hedges. On campus, the Palm Springs Yacht Club, offers spa services, swimming pools, and a cafe presented with the titular, nautical theme. A selection of 144 eclectic rooms, suites, and villas offer comfortable respites from the hotel’s many activities. Each room is custom decorated to reflect the western setting and storied history.
