Josh Harris opened Trick Dog in 2013, a buzzy warehouse behemoth that embodies all that is great about San Francisco’s creative cocktail scene. Diners ascend to a mezzanine level to feast on the likes of loaded fries and the Trick Dog burger, served in a hot dog bun, while downstairs, the biannual-themed cocktail menus are legendary. The latest, ‘The Whole Dog’, adapts 1960s counterculture magazine the ‘Whole Earth Catalog’, which came with recommendations for tools for hippies. Witness ‘Commune Life’, a trippy blend of gin, herbal liqueur, dry vermouth, yellow Chartreuse and burnt honey.
