Ferrari Trento Most Admired Hotel Group Award 2024

Aman

Pioneering purveyor of ultra-luxe, wellness-forward stays

The Ferrari Trento Most Admired Hotel Group Award was introduced to spotlight pioneers of the hospitality sector, whose ground-breaking initiatives or mould-breaking methods have made a significant impact on guest experiences around the world. Its first-ever winner, as voted for by the 600 experts that make up The World’s 50 Best Hotels Academy, is Aman.

Since the launch of its first hotel in 1988 – Amanpuri in Phuket, Thailand – Aman has been quietly building its reputation as a leading purveyor of intimate retreats and exquisite experiences in the luxury travel space. In the following decades, it has expanded its reach to open 35 unique destinations across the world.

Aman takes its name from the Sanskrit word for ‘peace,’ and each Aman hotel is rooted in its core mission to deliver timeless, serene experiences designed to make guests feel truly relaxed. This sense of peace is not just reserved for those lucky enough to be guests: 15 of its hotels are located in close proximity to UNESCO-protected sites, with conservation and local community development both key priorities.

Its breadth of properties ranges from colonial forts and luxury tented camps to contemporary skyscrapers, with three destinations named on the list of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2024. Each hotel has its own clear identity, while retaining the core Aman DNA that places wellness and warm hospitality first.

Aman has remained at the top of the game for decades, in part thanks to innovations and refinements that keep it in tune with the shifting desires of its clientele. As wellness became a core element of modern luxury travel, it launched its custom range of skincare, supplements and other ‘Aman Essentials’ to extend its renowned comfort beyond the walls of its properties. For those seeking a totally private and unique travel experience, the group launched Amandira – a custom-built, wooden sailing ship to take guests on a guided odyssey around the Indonesian islands.

With its timeless offering sought after across the world, Aman shows no signs of slowing its expansion: another five properties are confirmed to open in the next five years. In 2024, it also launched sibling hotel brand Janu – the Sanskrit word for ‘soul’ – with its debut property in Tokyo.

Any hotel group in the world with more than three hotels under a particular group’s management is eligible to win the Ferrari Trento Most Admired Hotel Group Award.
