Murakami was born in Hokkaido, Japan, and moved to Brazil in 1961. While in his teens he left Rio de Janeiro for Tokyo where he had his first experience working in a restaurant.
In search of other gastronomic styles and concepts, he soon ventured around Asia, Europe and the United States. In Tokyo he worked at the Ozushi from 1987 to 1989. After that, he went to New York to work at the Shabu Shabu. From New York he went to Barcelona, where he gained more experience at the Hiyokata.
Back in Sao Paulo, he began a new phase at Kinoshita.
TsuyoshiMurakami's restaurant has introduced to Brazil the Kappo Cuisine, a style of high Japanese gastronomy that aims to stimulate diverse sensations through the combination of rare and exotic aromas, textures and ingredients.
Kinoshita is the most original and acclaimed Japanese restaurant in Brazil.
