DANIEL BOULUD - Burgundy, Bordeaux, Black Truffles & Blue Jeans

A Casual Sunday Supper with Daniel

March 6, 2011

For the past twelve years, Chef Daniel Boulud has celebrated every major event in the life of his restaurant with a benefit for Citymeals-on-Wheels. This tradition has turned into an annual spring celebration, with Daniel personally hosting an intimate Sunday gathering that has become the gourmand event of the season. On March 6, 150 patrons and friends of Citymeals will get decked out in their best blue jeans and gather at DANIEL for a casual yet exquisite feast. This year Chef Daniel welcomes special guest Gerald Passédat of Marseille's Le Petit Nice. Together they will prepare a late winter menu including black truffles, and paired with fine Bordeaux and Burgundy wines. The event will again feature a silent auction of rare wine and other unique packages, as well as a live auction of one-of-a-kind travel and dining destinations. With the help of wine chair Daniel Johnnes, last year's gala reached new heights. The dinner, together with the La Paulée de San Francisco auction in March, raised nearly $400,000 for Citymeals – enough to provide more than 60,000 meals to homebound, aged New Yorkers. We are very grateful to Chef Daniel and look forward to making this year's event an even greater success!
