Now in its 12th edition, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, is making its Korean debut in 2024 for its annual celebration of the continent’s finest dining establishments. Following a momentous events programme in Singapore in 2023, this year’s festivities will be bigger and better than ever, reuniting the teams behind Asia’s leading restaurants for a five-day extravaganza across the city, culminating in a glittering awards ceremony on 26th March, revealing a brand-new ranking and the establishment named The Best Restaurant in Asia 2024, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna.

That’s not all: in addition to the highly anticipated awards ceremony, the week’s activities entail everything from seminars on the history of unwritten recipes and fermentation through to one-off collaboration dinners between world-leading talent and more. ONLINE ANNOUNCEMENT: 51-100 list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024
Thursday 13th March, 17:00 Seoul time (08:00 UTC)

Introduced in 2021 to spotlight a wider range of Asian gastronomic talent, the extended ranking of restaurants ranked from No.51 to No.100 will be unveiled on Thursday 13th March at 17:00 Seoul time, ahead of the awards ceremony on 26th March. Set a reminder and tune in to the livestream via the 50 Best YouTube channel and Facebook page.


LIVESTREAM: Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 Awards Ceremony
Tuesday 26th March, 20:00-21:30 Seoul time (11:00-12:30 UTC)
The atmosphere in the Korean capital will be electric as the teams behind Asia’s leading restaurants arrive on the red carpet at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in gleeful anticipation of the upcoming reveal. The awards ceremony will count down the venues ranked from No.50, concluding with the coveted No.1 spot, named The Best Restaurant in Asia 2024.

Alongside the main ranking, a number of special awards will also be bestowed throughout the evening, including the Inedit Damm Chefs’ Choice Award, Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award, Beronia Asia’s Best Sommelier Award, Sustainable Restaurant Award, Asia’s Best Pastry Chef, sponsored by Valrhona, Highest Climber Award, sponsored by Korean Air and Highest New Entry Award, sponsored by Nongshim.

In the hours preceding the ceremony, tune into the 50 Best Restaurants Instagram account to see highlights from the Intercontinental as chefs arrive on the red carpet. At 20:00, switch over to the 50 Best Restaurants YouTube channel and Facebook page to watch the ceremony unfold.


INTERVIEWS: Instagram Live and Press Conference with No.1
Tuesday 26th March, shortly after the awards ceremony

Following the reveal of the new ranking and the establishment named The Best Restaurant in Asia 2024, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, the team behind the newly crowned venue will take part in an exclusive first interview hosted live on the 50 Best Restaurants Instagram account.

After sharing their initial reactions with the 50 Best team, they will move to the official press conference, where they will elaborate further on their new title and answer questions from the media. Tune into the 50 Best Restaurants YouTube channel to watch the press conference live.

Renowned chefs Jungsik Yim and Jeong Kwan will join forces to create a plant-based feast

The first stop of this year’s awards week will take place at Jungsik (No.26 in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018), where eponymous chef Jungsik Yim will collaborate with Icon Award 2022 winner Jeong Kwan to welcome stakeholders, VIPs and the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy Chairs to Seoul. The duo will create a plant-based menu, preceded by cocktails from Asia’s 50 Best Bars high-flyer, Zest. Follow the 50 Best Restaurants Instagram page for live highlights from the event.


LIVE HIGHLIGHTS: #50BestTalks: Food of the People
Monday 25th March, 11:00-13:30 Seoul time (02:00-04:30 UTC)

The first 2024 outing of 50 Best’s gastronomic thought-leadership series is headed to the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, with the chosen topic of exploring, celebrating and enjoying the delights of ‘ordinary’ dishes and drinks across Asia. Viewers will be party to a range of talks and seminars from the history and tradition of preservation presented by leading figures, such as Asia’s Best Female Chef 2023 Johanne Siy, to Korean cold noodle masterclasses from local chef Do-yun Kim and more. One day before the awards ceremony, the teams behind the restaurants set to be included in the 2024 ranking will have their chance to reunite and break bread at Yeong Bin Gwan at The Shilla. On offer will be a range of Korean bites, alongside great cocktails from local Asia’s 50 Best Bars regular Bar Cham.
