How the list was created
The Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022 list is the aggregate of votes cast by the Academy, an influential group of over 300 leaders, including food writers and critics, chefs, restaurateurs and culinary experts from across the region. The Academy is regularly rotated and has 50/50 gender balance.
In 2022, the voting rules were amended in response to restrictions on international travel across Asia. Voters could nominate a total of eight restaurants, including up to six from their home country, but with no obligation to vote for restaurants outside of their home country/SAR. However, those lucky enough to have been able to travel could submit any number of votes for restaurants (up to the maximum of eight) outside of their home country/SAR.
To find out more about the voting process, visit the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants website.
