1. Watch Massimo Bottura and Daniela Soto-Innes discuss kitchen culture live
As chefs from all over the world descend on Singapore, the heavyweights of global gastronomy will be taking part in live events – including Massimo Bottura, chef-owner of Osteria Francescana, currently ranked No.1 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. The Italian chef will take part in this year’s edition of #50BestTalks, presented by Miele, on Sunday, 23rd June, to discuss the global revolution towards a more positive kitchen culture. Joining him will be The World’s Best Female Chef 2019 Daniela Soto-Innes of Cosme, Le Bernardin’s chef Eric Ripert, Ana Roš of Hiša Franko and Tetsuya Wakuda of Waku Ghin. 2. Allow the 50 Best Masterclasses to reveal the secrets behind the world’s best dishes
If you’ve always wondered what goes on behind the scenes in the kitchens of the best restaurants on Earth, the 50 Best Masterclasses have your answer. Three intimate events are set to take place on Sunday, 23rd June, at Marina Bay Sands, where world-renowned chefs Gaggan Anand of Gaggan, Virgilio Martínez and Pía León of Central and Rasmus Kofoed of Geranium will give the audience a live insight into their philosophy, inspiration and the techniques that go into their signature dishes. 3. Get a taste of what’s to come with the announcement of who’s on the 51-120 list on 18th June
Ahead of the unveiling of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019 on 25th June, we will announce those on the extended list exactly a week before. In celebration of our lead partner S.Pellegrino’s 120th anniversary, this year’s list has been extended to 120 restaurants. Tune in to The World's 50 Best Restaurants Instagram stories on 18th June at 11:30am GMT to watch the 2019 edition of the 51-120 list announced in descending order live, one restaurant at a time.
4. Discover the 2019 edition of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list in real time
Arguably the biggest event in the global food calendar, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019, sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, will take place on Tuesday, 25th June, at Marina Bay Sands. This year’s edition will be the first to benefit from a series of voting changes, including the creation of the Best of the Best category and a gender-balanced voting Academy, with a 50/50 split of female to male voters. While the event is open only to the restaurants on the list, media and partners, you can watch every minute of the action and discover the list at the same time as those in the room by tuning in to the livestream. At 9:30pm Singapore time on 25th June, head to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Facebook page for the video livestream, or follow the announcement as it is published live on Instagram and Twitter.
5. You can eat some of the best French food on the planet – for a good cause
For one night only, four outstanding chefs specialising in French gastronomy who ply their trade across the globe will come together to raise funds for breast cancer research. The dinner will take place at restaurant Odette in Singapore (recently voted The Best Restaurant in Asia 2019) on Sunday, 23rd June, and it will feature gastronomic creations by Mauro Colagreco of Mirazur, Yannick Alléno of Alléno Paris au Pavillon Ledoyen, Juan Contrera of Atelier Crenn and host chef, the brilliant Julien Royer. 6. …or book a seat at another once-in-a-lifetime collaboration meal
When the finest chefs from all over the world come together in one city, delicious things happen. As part of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019, three further collaboration meals are up for grabs. On Sunday, 23rd June, Tetsuya Wakuda is hosting the American Express Icon Award winner José Andrés at his restaurant Waku Ghin at Marina Bay Sands (email wakughinreservation@marinabaysands.com for reservations). On 23rd June at dinner, Chef Jorge Vallejo from Quintonil in Mexico City is cooking with Brandon Galitz at superb steakhouse Cut by Wolfgang Puck at Marina Bay Sands (for reservations, email cutreservations@marinabaysands.com). Finally, on Tuesday, 25th June at lunch, Swiss cook Andreas Caminada of Schloss Schauenstein and Singaporean talent Jason Tan are preparing a special meal at Corner House (enquiries@cornerhouse.com.sg for reservations).
