50 Best is heading to the Big Apple for the launch of North America’s 50 Best Bars. On 7th June, drinks industry veterans and cocktail luminaries from across the continent will be pouring into ‘The City That Never Sleeps’ for the inaugural event, which will take place in Lower Manhattan’s historic Capitale.

How the list was created
The North America’s 50 Best Bars 2022 list is an amalgamation of the votes cast by the Voting Academy: a 220-strong, gender-balanced group of drinks aficionados including bartenders, owners, drinks media and well-travelled cocktail connoisseurs.
In 2022, each voter cast seven votes based on their best bar experiences of the past 18 months, with the option to vote for two bars outside of their home country if they had been able to travel. The aggregated votes from all the experts make up the list.

Special awards
Two special awards were announced in the lead up to the reveal of the official list. Masahiro Urushido was crowned the Altos Bartenders’ Bartender 2022 and the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award 2022 was claimed by Overstory in New York.
