As The World’s 50 Best Bars heads to Asia for the first time, the 50 Best organisation is launching a new concept for the bar world after its success in the 50 Best Restaurants programme: 50 Best Signature Sessions. These ticket-only events are designed to introduce Singaporean locals and travellers from across the world to the elite bartending talent who will be in town for the 50 Best events in the Lion City.
Visiting bars will join up with local luminaries of the cocktail scene to create a series of bespoke gatherings. They will come together to showcase global cocktail technique and skill, share knowledge and work with 50 Best’s partner brands to create unique drinks. Perrier will be on hand for guests at all six events to bring its iconic effervescent refreshment.
The six events will take place between 14th and 18th October and will be plotted around the core 50 Best event programme, access to which is by invitation only. Here’s everything you need to know about these one-of-a-kind cocktailian collaborations.
Jigger & Pony x Tjoget
Singapore will host Sweden for an evening of whisk(e)y-based cocktails
What: Whisky Night

Who: Local legend Jigger & Pony – currently No.2 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars and The Best Bar in Asia in The World’s 50 Best Bars – is inviting the team from Tjoget, Stockholm to create a night of outstanding whisk(e)y cocktails. They will be working with 50 Best partners Michter’s, Nikka and Naked Malt to create six globetrotting drinks that fuse flavour with the funk that both bars are known for.

Manhattan x Botanist Bar
Two previous Art of Hospitality Award winners will join forces at the storied Singaporean bar, Manhattan
What: Dark Spirits Brunch

Who: Expect exemplary service as these two former winners of the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award pair up for a one-of-a-kind brunch event. Manhattan, a two-time winner of The Best Bar in Asia crown, will welcome the team from Vancouver’s Botanist Bar, which burst onto the scene last year, ranking No.19 in North America’s 50 Best Bars. They will be mixing 50 Best’s dark spirit partners Matusalem Rum and Rémy Martin Cognac to create decadent cocktails that will accompany Manhattan’s legendary bottomless brunch offering.

Atlas x Little Red Door x Southside Parlor

Who: Atlas, one of the world’s iconic bars, is inviting 50 Best high-flier Little Red Door from Paris and Southside Parlor from Seoul to Singapore to prepare for one of the biggest parties of 50 Best Week. Chef Daniele Sperindio from Michelin-starred restaurant Art is providing the dishes, backed up by a second food station hawking lobster rolls all night. The bartenders will be working with 50 Best’s white spirit partners Roku Gin, Ketel One Vodka and Bareksten Aquavit to create a menu of nine drinks, each priced at $25 SGD. A live DJ set from Ben Sheffield will keep the good vibes flowing.

Nutmeg & Clove x Café La Trova x Scarfes Bar x High Five
Nutmeg & Clove will welcome bars from three other continents serving signature libations
What: Sip, Savour, Swing

Who: Leading bars from three continents will gather at Colin Chia’s Nutmeg & Clove for an outstanding night of food and drink. Julio Cabrera, fresh from winning the Roku Industry Icon Award at North America’s 50 Best Bars 2023, will be making the trip from Miami, along with London’s Scarfes Bar and Tokyo’s High Five for a series of different experiences. Food will be served by Singapore’s own Labyrinth restaurant, ranked No.11 in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023. Drinks will come courtesy of 50 Best brands Campari, Roku Gin, The London Essence Co. mixers and Mancino Vermouth.

Writers Bar x Handshake Speakeasy
The iconic Writers Bar at Raffles will play host to The Best Bar in Mexico, Handshake Speakeasy

Who: Writers Bar, set in the iconic Raffles Hotel that was just announced as No.17 in the inaugural list of The World’s 50 Best Hotels, will be playing host to Handshake Speakeasy, the Mexico City venue which has been named The Best Bar in Mexico in the past two editions of North America’s 50 Best Bars. It makes a fitting pairing for the agave spirits-focussed evening, where Eric Van Beek from Handshake and the Writers Bar crew will be crafting drinks using Siete Misterios Mezcal and Altos Tequila. Don’t miss Handshake’s famous Salt N Pepper concoction.

MO Bar Singapore x Freni e Frizioni

Who: The recently renovated Mandarin Oriental Singapore and its namesake MO Bar have just reopened to critical acclaim. The entire hotel and its food and beverage facilities have undergone a multi-million-dollar facelift and the new incarnation of the MO Bar, a previous winner of the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award, will be hosting Riccardo Rossi of Freni e Frizioni for an Italian Night, working with some of the most prestigious Italian liqueur and spirits brands, including Disaronno, Tia Maria, Amaro Lucano, Campari and Mancino Vermouth.
