Les Amis

Singapore

Singapore’s French fine-dining institution

What’s in a name? Les Amis, the French translation of 'friends', is the sophisticated original restaurant of the Les Amis Group. In the 1990s, there was a dearth of independent fine-dining restaurants in Singapore. On opening in 1994, Les Amis filled the void and has grown to become an emblematic French restaurant in the city-state.

In the kitchen: Sebastien Lepinoy moved from Hong Kong to take over the kitchen. The French-born chef spent a total of 17 years with Joël Robuchon before he joined the Les Amis group.

What’s on the menu? Current Lepinoy dishes include chilled angel hair pasta with caviar and black truffle; sea urchin soufflé with tarragon and dill in a rich crustacean sauce; and his take on the classic baba au rum, served with a lightly whipped crème fleurette.

Service to match: The restaurant, winner of the Art of Hospitality Award in 2020, is a practitioner of guest-forward thinking. Diners are welcomed with the finest white-gloved hospitality and every server – of cheese, truffles and caviar – has an exceptional knowledge in their respective field.
