Lighthearted and laid back, Bar Ran serves up an approachable selection of easy-to-drink cocktails to a soundtrack of funk and disco. In a city known for its beer, this neighbourhood bar is very much focused on cocktail craft, with the team that grows their own herbs and produces an array of ingredients in-house. Each drink on the bar’s Chroma menu is inspired by a different colour, starting with the vodka-based Chalk White, all the way to Peach Black with peated scotch whisky and peach wine. Don’t miss Bar Ran classics such as the King Kong Milkpunch or the Funky Daiquiri. Beyond the cocktails, there’s the bar’s collection of vintage spirits to explore too, with the oldest dating back to 1870. Big windows let in plenty of light in the daytime, while the atmosphere turns decidedly cosy in the evening.
