For all the buzz surrounding it there’s something pleasingly nostalgic about this restaurant, set on a cobblestone street in the hip neighbourhood of Pinheiros. Despite the accomplished technique learned under his time working with Italian chef Marco Renzetti, Lucas Dante’s food is unfussy – he mainlines in excellent ingredients from small producers who know their stuff, serving them with just the right condiments to ensure they really sing. From smoked butter to sausages, everything is made in house and his cured meats are held in particularly high regard. A wine list headed up by sommelier Gabrielli Fleming, Dante’s wife, focuses on organic, biodynamic and low intervention pours from across the New World.
