There’s often a line outside Grant van Gameren’s Spanish tapas and cocktails hotspot – but don’t be put off. The mainly standing-room-only space features undulating Gaudí-esque interiors and tables made from barrels, while an enclosed patio allows for alfresco imbibing. Service is exceptional (perhaps a result of van Gameren’s practice of elevating some staff to partner status), with tapas dishes as good as Barcelona’s best. Start with an aperitive from the well-curated list, then move on to cava, at $4 a glass between midnight and 2am.
