Chef May Chow won the title of Asia’s Best Female Chef in 2017, the same year that she opened this follow-up to Little Bao and Second Draft. Blade Runner meets Happy Days in a neon-slashed interior where Chinese-accented cocktails are served in the retro bar and food orders taken in diner-style booths. While the surroundings and clientele couldn’t look any cooler, welcoming staff do their best to keep the vibe inclusive. The neo-Cantonese cooking blends Chinese classics with a pick-and-mix of influences around the globe: the Szechuan fried chicken, for instance, comes with sourdough egg waffle and bottarga whip. One day all Chinese restaurants will look and taste like this.
