On entering Atelier by Taste Buds in central Shanghai you’ll find an aperitive bar with a focus on Campari, Aperol and more, but the real attraction here is contained in the many barrels in which various cocktails are being aged. There's even the option to buy your own barrel. Now in its second year, this spacious bar from Daniel An, who is behind Antique and Taste Buds Cocktail Palace, has a sedate, classic feel. The cocktail list itself offers some theatre, requiring a blowtorch to reveal its contents.
