A cosy, wood-panelled space with room for fewer than 30 guests (including four in rocking chairs), this dimly lit bar is difficult to track down hidden away in the backstreets of downtown Kyoto. But once inside you’ll find the bar team in pristine white shirts and waistcoats who know exactly what they're doing. They don't offer up a cocktail menu, instead, guests are encouraged to chat to their bartender about their likes and dislikes before a bespoke drink is whipped up for them. There's also an extensive list of bar snacks on offer, including excellent pickles and cured meats.
