Found near Kyoto’s Ritz-Carlton, Cave De K is one of the city’s hidden gems, serving European wines, cheese and desserts. The pared-down decor is reminiscent of Spanish bodegas, with plain white rendered walls, exposed pale bricks and a long wooden bar backed by the very well-stocked fridges. Suited and knowledgeable staff are on hand to talk guests through the menu, shave off slivers of Iberico ham and advise on any number of patisseries they serve up. Look upstairs for its sister bar pouring whisky.
