Opened in 2009, François Geurds’ eponymous restaurant serves food that is strong on flavour – as his dedicated ‘flavour laboratory’ on site would suggest. Highly original with a focus on progressive sauces, this fine diner has a nose for detail like few others in the business: steaks are served with a choice of knives. The private dining room has an inverted garden on the ceiling. There are several different flavours of infused salt to choose from. The excellent wine list offers over 170 types of champagne. If the idea of so much choice feels overwhelming after a week at work, leave yourself in the hands of a front of house team that somehow manages to pull of the trick of being both ever present and discreet. Geurds himself frequently comes out of the kitchen to introduce himself to diners.
