In the words of Torto’s founders: “this isn't a bar, it's a place... and it's not for goodies-goodies.” This is a venue that prides itself on being inclusive and multicultural and manages to do it without an ounce of pretension. Critically acclaimed since first opening its doors a few years ago, Torto creates cocktails that are intricate and interesting as well as irreverent and undeniably contemporary. The vibrantly illustrated menu features drinks such as the P!nk is Not Dead! with tequila, mezcal, tamarillo ginger and honey, as well as salty scotch-based Sea-Thru made with golden samphire. The decor is in keeping with the bar’s approach – splashed with graffiti and featuring a mural by Lisbon street art collective Crack Kids – in contrast with Torto’s setting within a century-old Moorish-style building. All in all, a vibrant, modern celebration of art, culture and cocktails.
