Well worth a visit for the stunning setting at Le Lude winery alone, Orangerie is also an excellent stop for a relaxed lunch in the middle of the Franschhoek Valley. Le Gavroche-trained chef Nicolene Barrow serves classical French cuisine with contemporary and Asian twists, using the freshest ingredients from the Cape. Open for lunch only, Orangerie serves an à la carte menu of dishes including gruyere soufflé, ginger-glazed pork belly and triple-fried pomme neuf chips. There is a superb list of local wines and an afternoon tea menu served daily.
