After a seven-year project to restore seven landmark buildings was completed, Four Seasons Madrid was born in 2020. The resulting hotel has already become a beacon of exemplary hospitality that’s as much a hangout for locals as it is visitors. The Four Seasons’ property in the Spanish capital brings art to the front and centre of its aesthetic, with over 1,500 pieces – ranging from sculptures to photography and paintings – lining its every wall, curated by Paloma Fernández-Iriondo. Each of the 200 rooms on offer are well-sized and fitted out with all the creature comforts one could hope for, including a fridge stocked with local jamón Ibérico and vermouth for a nice local touch. Its four-storey spa is the largest in Madrid and features a glass-roofed pool and outdoor relaxation area. A range of high-end eateries bolster the hotel’s hospitality, including pan-Asian restaurant Isa hosts live music and a cocktail bar with a few superb sips up its sleeve. Come night time, the rooftop is the place to be, at chef Daní Garcia’s casual brasserie and bar, which offers delicious Spanish fare and beautiful vistas of the surrounding city.
