Housed in Colombo’s historic Dutch Hospital building, this temple to all things crustacean is a Asia’s 50 Best regular. Open since 2011, the buzzy space is dedicated to crab, as the name might suggest, but that isn’t to say that other fine native seafood, including prawns and oysters, don’t get a look in. Feast on the signature lagoon crab, prepared in one of four ways – chilli, pepper, garlic or curry – then indulge in dessert or pick up some crustacean-themed merchandise. Chef-patron Dharshan Munidasa is something of a local celebrity thanks to his ‘Culinary Journeys with Dharshan’ TV series. Ministry outposts can also be found in Shanghai, Manila and Mumbai.
