Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is one of Switzerland's largest and most luxurious thermal spa complexes and, since 2016, home to IGNIV by Andreas Caminada (chef-owner of Schloss Schauenstein). The small dining room cocoons guests under vaulted ceilings, log fire ablaze during winter months. Energetic head chef Silvio Germann's ‘three-course’ sharing taster blends fine dining with Swiss comfort: eight small starters are followed by five dishes for the main course and seven or eight artful desserts. Local ingredients may include trout caught by Germann himself on nearby Walensee lake. A second IGNIV outpost operates in St Moritz.
