Marc L³ is something a little bit different. Tucked away in Kaohsiung's Qianjin District, it is set within a townhouse whose traditional frontage has been replaced entirely with glass, giving the space a light, bright and entirely unique feel. Split over two floors, guests can choose from the communal dining counter at ground level or travel upstairs to the somewhat industrial dining room with its teal leather chairs, lit by an eccentric bubble-style chandelier. On the eight-course French menu, dishes are presented with minimal fuss and could include Pankexia black pig with white asparagus, rapeseed and Kishu plum or trout with roe, fermented cabbage and Alpine tomatoes. Be warned though, reservations here are like gold dust (with full payment due before your visit), so unless you plan ahead, you may find yourself experiencing the special anxiety of the restaurant waiting list.
