There’s little wonder that Taipei’s To Infinity and Beyond is ranked on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2023, offering something different to Taipei’s cocktail scene at the highest level. The space theme here extends beyond the bar’s name, starting with the high-tech cocktails made using the latest techniques and equipment. Among these is the Comet, with miso, rose geranium, apricot and guava foam topped with liquid-nitrogen ice cream, while a series of drinks draws inspiration from the planets, like the Neptune, a beautiful creation combining yuzu, jasmine and a clarified watermelon soda with a coconut air. Dishes take similar cosmic inspiration, such as the Mars Spicy Dumplings, pairing well with the drinks offering. Decor, too, is in keeping with the theme, transporting you to a sci-fi setting, perhaps aboard a spaceship among the stars.
