Early childhood spent in Brazil inspired Sandro Silva, along with his wife and co-founder, Maria Seco, to launch Amazónico in Madrid in 2016. The restaurant’s Latin American dishes were such a hit, that the group has now opened outposts in Dubai, Monte-Carlo and London, where interiors by artist Lázaro Rosa-Violan take design cues from the rainforest, with layers of natural wood and terracotta and an abundance of leafy plants. Chef Vitelio Reyes looks after the kitchen, serving dishes designed to take guests on a journey down the Amazon River through the cuisines of Brazil, Colombia and Peru. Expect a mix of Brazilian dishes, Peruvian Nikkei and and cachaça cocktails. Weekends are for the Amazónico Asado, a lunch menu of Brazilian grilled meats bookended by cassava bread and Amazónico’s signature guacamole, and desserts like the traditional Brazilian chocolate truffles, brigadeiros.
